Igniter

from Forney Corporation provide the reliability, stability and repeatability that is required by the electric power industry, pulp and paper industry and many other large industrial users around the world.

With thousands of igniters installed world wide, Forney is a leading supplier of NFPA class I, II and III igniters and warm up guns firing natural gas, No. 2 fuel oil and propane. Our fuel firing equipment can be found on all types of boilers including wall fired, tangentially fired, arch fired and cyclone fired as well as Circulating Fluidized Bed (CFB) and Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) applications. Forney's attention to quality and application make Forney igniters highly reliable and stable. Below is a partial listing of Forney's oil and gas fired igniters.

  • DURAFire Oil Igniter - features a unique "Protected Primary Combustion Zone," resulting in a highly repeatable and stable flame. This oil igniter's versatility allows it to either be located in the center or the annulus of a wall fired burner.
  • MAXFire Gas Igniter - also utilizes a "Protected Primary Combustion Zone" to provide reliable ignition and stable operation.
  • Flexible Single Tube Igniter (Gas or Oil) - designed for use in a tilting tangentially fired boiler. It is located within the main fuel windbox in-between the fuel nozzles. The FST can fire gas or oil as a class one igniter or warm-up gun.
  • Q-87 Oil or Gas Igniter - is primarily used when steam atomization is required, although it can also be atomized with air or by meachanical means. It's 4-inch OD allows for easy retrofit into all wall fired applications.
  • Horn Igniter (Oil and/or Gas) - incorporates the advantages of the DURAFire and MAXFire igniters into the Horn Igniter.
